Origami Christmas Lights
Want to spruce up your white Christmas lights with some color, white elephant style? Cover them with origami cubes. The origami paper acts as a color filter for the light. Fold the origami into boxes and place over the top of the light. Dark paper doesn’t allow light to come through, so patterned and lighter colored origami paper works best.
Gingerbread Log Cabin
One of our favorite family traditions is creating gingerbread houses. Since we live in a log cabin, we decided to make our gingerbread house look like a log cabin.
Shoe Box Train
With some tissue paper, cardboard, and glue, a simple shoe box becomes a teddy bear sized train engine for our son’s pre-school parade. One particular detail that we were proud of was the engine headlight. Using a small flashlight inside of a larger clear spice container, we were able to to make it feel like a headlight.
